What is this site all about?
sidekickcomics.ca is an online community where you can subscribe to your favorite comics, manage your subscription, and participate in discussions about comics and pop-culture through our sidekickcomics.ca blogs.
What is a subscription?
If you are sick of going into a comic store and finding that they have sold out of a comic that you were really interested in, then a subscription is for you! When you create an account on our site you will have the ability to add comic titles to your subscription list. This will guarantee that you get a copy of your favorite books without fail! A subscription costs nothing to set up, entitles you to great savings on your comics, and has no strings attached! You can manage your subscription online through our website, changing it as often as you like. You then have the option of picking your books up in-store, or having them shipped to you.
Where are you located, and how can I contact you?
We are located in Brampton, Ontario Canada - about 20 minutes outside of Toronto. We have been serving the Brampton comic community for over 20 years. Come by our store anytime for a visit, or to pick up your books!

What else can I buy on your website?
We are a full-service comic and pop-culture retailer. Our online site, for the time being will focus mostly on our subscription service. In the future, we may add the ability to purchase other items in our store. Should you ever wish to inquire about the availability of a certain product, feel free to email us
How do I sign up for a Subscription?
In order to have a subscription with us you must register on our site . During the registration process you will be asked how you would like to receive your books. You can either pick up your books in-store, or have them shipped to you via Canada Post at current shipping rates. You have the option of choosing weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly shipping dates.
Then you must choose your payment settings. Customers can pay for their items when they pick them up in-store and will receive a 10% discount on all comics. Alternatively, you can place your credit card on file with us so that we may charge you as your books arrive. This will entitle you to discounts of up to 20% depending on the number of titles you are subscibed to. We currently accept Visa and Mastercard. All data entered through our site is protected by secure SSL encryption. Your payment data is not stored online.
After these steps are taken, you can start adding comics to your profile. When the comics you subscribe to are released, they will be held for you until they are picked up or shipped out to you. That way, you never miss an issue of your favorite books! You can subscribe and unsubscribe to books as needed. Your subscription list is updated instantly!
Is a deposit required to start a Subscription?
No! Our Subscriptions are 100% free to set up, require no deposit, have no strings attached, and can be cancelled at any time! The only thing you will have to pay for are your books, and any applicable shipping charges should you choose home delivery.
Why do I not see prices on your site?
Comic books currently only display the US pricing on the cover. The Canadian pricing varies depending on the exchange rates. Currently, books that sell for $2.99US are $3.50 Canadian. Books that are $3.99US are $4.50 Canadian. We will always charge our customers a fair and honest price based on exchange rates.
What is your discount structure?
In-store payments - 10% off all comics
Placing a credit card on file will entitle you to the following, based on number of books subscribed to:
10% for 1-19 titles / month
15% for 20-49 titles / month
20% for 50+ titles / month
I live outside of Canada, can I still subscribe using your site?
Absolutely! Anywhere Canada Post ships, we can send your books. You will be charged at current shipping rates to your destination.
I want to Subscribe to a comic that is not shown on your site. How do I do that?
We have endeavoured to list as many available comics as possible on our site. If there is a title missing that you would like to subscribe to, let us know and we'll add it to our database!
What if I have special instructions or would like to request a certain cover of a comic?
We would be happy to accomodate any reasonable request. just email us and let us know!
How do I know what comics are coming in each week?
We will send an email each week letting our registered users what will be coming into our store on the upcoming Wednesday. Also, if you click on the 'Newsletter' tab at the top of the screen, it will display a list of what is coming in as well.
What if the comic I receive is damaged?
If you receive a damaged comic in the mail we will rectify the situation by either providing a replacement at no charge to you or, if a replacement is unavailable, a refund to your account. In the event that we ask the item to be sent back to us, we will cover the cost of shipping.
Why do you have blogs on your site?
Because we believe in community and we want our users to be a part of something more than just a subscription site! We encourage discussion and debate about all things comic and pop-culture related.
Can any user have a blog?
Yes! Any registered user can contribute to our site with a blog of their own. Just click on the 'My Blog' tab at top of our site once you are signed in, and then click the 'Add Blog Entry' button.
What kind of content can be published on my blog?
You can publish anything in your blog, provided it isn't anything that will get us into any legal trouble! Also, being that this is a comics-based website, try to keep your blog focused on the themes of comics and pop-culture.
